MODULE 07 · TRANSACTIONAL MAIL THAT LANDS
Welcome, reset, receipt — the big three.
Transactional email is the mail your product must send: password resets, receipts, invites. Use a provider with templates and domain verification, or everything you send lands in spam.
WHEN YOU NEED IT
Usually Tier 2. At Tier 1, your auth provider's built-in mails cover you.
THE CHOICE, PER TIER
- T1Skip — auth provider emails are enough
- T2Resend (easiest) or AWS SES (cheapest at volume)
- T3+ shared templates and bulk sends via jobs
SAY THIS TO YOUR AGENT
"Set up Resend with a verified domain. Create templates for welcome, password reset, and receipt. Send from the backend only, and log every send."
DONE WHEN
- DKIM/SPF verified — mail lands in inboxes, not spam
- Every template renders with real data
- Failed sends are logged where you can see them
